Seeking Nominations for School Board Members
River Grove: A Marine Area Community School is seeking nominations for Board Members! This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the school. The Founding Board of Directors began meeting more than a year before the school officially opened and is excited to begin the transition to operating board members. Founding board members will gradually transition off the board over the next three years, and our goal is to gradually transition new members to the board. The responsibility of the board is to direct the affairs of the school and exercise its powers subject to state law, the Articles of Incorporation, and the Bylaws of the organization.
Submit nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 30, 2018. Those interested in serving are asked to provide a brief statement of qualifications to share with eligible voters. Within the statement, include your reason for seeking a board position, any specific skills you feel will benefit the board, and general information about you. Limit statements to 300 words. The community will be asked to vote and elect board members at its annual meeting on May 19, 2018. Eligible voters include parents of students attending River Grove, employees of River Grove, and current board members. The two seats elected will serve a three-year term starting July 1, 2018.
